Holiday Party Makeup Mistakes to Avoid

Holiday Party Makeup Mistakes to Avoid

The holiday season is just around the corner! And with the holiday season comes lots of gatherings and parties! It can be with your family, friends or even co-workers. To help you look fabulous at every party you’re going to attend this holiday season, we gathered these holiday party makeup mistakes to avoid.

Flaky Skin

Since the weather is cold during the holiday season, it’s common for our skin to become dry. Applying makeup to dry skin is a big no-no. Take extra care of your skin during winter. Remember to exfoliate, moisturize, and prime your skin prior to applying your makeup. The smoother your skin, the more evenly your makeup will glide on and stay.

Too much glitter

The holiday season is a great time to add glitter and shimmer to your makeup and outfit. But be sure not to overdo it.  Choose the perfect shimmery eyeshadow for your skin tone, sweep it on lids and at the inner corners to brighten your face.

Separating shadows

Any good party lasts all night, so make sure you use a makeup primer, so your makeup does too. If you want your makeup stay in place and look fabulous during the whole party, remember to use primer.

Obvious lipliner

Red lips are fabulous and they’re a staple for holiday parties! But be sure you go easy with the lip liner, or you can quickly go from classic beauty to clown. Be sure to use a lip liner that’s similar to your lipstick color so everything blends together.

Eyeliner and mascara smudges

Holiday or not, eye makeup smudges never look attractive. To prevent your liner and mascara from flaking and smudging, use an eye makeup primer and choose water-resistant or smudge-proof mascara and liner.   An eye makeup primer is really going to save your eye makeup from smudging down under your eyes. Use a volumnizing and lengthening mascara to add drama to your eye makeup!

No shimmer at all

While excessive shimmer not good, no shimmer at all is not good either.  You can either use shiny eyeshadow, add bronzer on your cheeks or use glossy lipstick. But be sure to choose which area to focus on and not to add shine all over your face.
