Want to look your very best when taking pictures? You don’t have to be photogenic to look pretty  in photos, just follow these tips on how to look gorgeous in pictures!

Tips on makeup

Make sure your foundation is a perfect match. When a foundation is too pale for your skin tone, it becomes very obvious when a flash hits the skin. When your foundation is too dark it does not look good either. Match your skin to your chest and add a thin layer to your neck if your neck is pale.

Hydrate your skin. Make sure your skin is healthy, hydrated and primed. So remember to apply moisturizer and primer before applying your makeup. A good primer goes a long way toward achieving smooth, photo-ready skin.

Fill in your brows. Not only do your eyebrows shape your face, they often mean all the difference between looking wide awake and washed out on camera. If your eye brows are lighter, try using a slightly darker brow pencil if you know you’ll be photographed, since features tend to look lighter in pictures.

Curled lashes and 3D Fiber Lash Mascara are must to open up your eyes! If you want to maximize the impact of your eyes, be sure your lashes are curled and long. They more open they are, the more the light hits them and that’s what makes them sparkle.

Contour your cheekbones, nose, jawline or any other features you’d like more prominent will add back in any definition lost in a photo. Add blush to your cheeks. Contour and blush will define your features and add life to your face.

You might want to avoid makeup with shimmer and sparkle as your face will look like more of a sheen in photographs, so opt for matte makeup. But when it comes to your lips, you can wear bright shiny lipstick.  Dark lipstick can have a minimizing effect on lips. So wear your favorite bright lipgloss.

Tips on poses

Avoid those awkward photos where your eyes half-closed. What you can do is to blink just before the picture is taken and open them slowly before the camera clicks. No more half-closed eyes!

Elongate your neck and push your face forward a bit. Think of sticking out your forehead and tipping your chin slightly down. It might feel awkward, but it will look great and hide your double chin.

When smiling, put your tongue behind your teeth to avoid a goofy, too-wide grin.

Look toward a light right before someone snaps your photo. Doing so will shrink your pupils and help you avoid red eye.
