Mascara Application Techniques

Mascara can help lengthen, thicken, and darken eyelashes. If applied correctly, it can enhance the appearance of your eyes dramatically. But if done incorrectly it can smudge, smear and make your lashes look spidery so here are the mascara application techniques you should try.

  • Apply primer to avoid seeing your mascara smudged onto your upper or lower eyelids. By applying primer initially, you are conditioning your eyelashes and preventing breakage.
  • Always use eyelashes curler before applying your mascara Gently bend at the base of your lash and keep it for several seconds before walking it out to the end of your lash. This will open up your eyes instantly and lift the lashes, making them stand out more.
  • You can try the fingertip technique. When you can apply the mascara while it is still wet, use your fingertips to lift the lashes. Make sure your fingertips are clean.
  • Dust a small powder on your lashes. Close your eyes to avoid letting it go into your eyes, then sweep the loose powder over the lashes. The powder will stick to your eyelashes, thereby making them thicker and denser upon applying the mascara.
  • Apply the mascara in such a zigzag motion. Start from the root of lashes to the tip. Pull it outward diagonally, from the outer corner of your eyes. By this way, you are creating fluttering, sexy look and flicking out your lashes. You will also be able to apply mascara to the roots can give them an enhancement of thickness, making your eyes look bigger.
  • Rotate your brush from root to tip as you apply it this will lengthen your lashes.
  • Wiggle the wand as you coat your lashes from base to tip will help keep the lashes from clumping together
  • Bend your mascara wand so that it’s perpendicular to the rest of the wand. A bent wand will allow you to have greater control. It will also help you reach those problem areas.
  • When you’re finish and before the lashes dry, use a lash comb to brush them through. This will give you the perfect separation, collecting clumps along the way.
