Beauty Resolutions to Make in the New Year

New year, new you? We always have a lot of resolutions when it comes time for the new year. They may be  about career, money, family, health, relationships, etc. But only a few of us make new resolutions about beauty. Here are some great beauty resolutions to make in the New Year

Apply Sunscreen Everyday

Apply a moisturizer with an SPF all year round.  Cold or hot weather, moisturizer is a must. Choose moisturizer with SPF to protect the skin against UV damage and you don’t have to spend a fortune to get the vital protection that your skin needs.

Quit Smoking

Like sun damage, smoking is a major factor in the wrinkling of the skin. Nicotine in cigarette smoke causes blood vessels and capillaries to constrict, decreasing the circulation of oxygen within the skin, which is necessary for the health, maintenance and growth of skin cells.

Drink Enough Water

Drink two liters of water every day to flush toxins out of the body and keep skin looking soft, and healthy. On average 45-70 per cent of a person’s total body weight is made up of water, so it is vital to keep fluid levels topped up.

Wash Your Face Twice a day

Wash your before going to bed and when you wake up in the morning There’s nothing worse than putting your face to bed loaded with a day’s worth of dirt and dust.  Make and dirt can clog pores and leave potentially harmful chemicals on the skin overnight. Dirt, environmental pollutants, germs, bacteria and excessive oil accumulates on the skin during the day and should be cleansed away so that the skin can breathe and be rejuvenated. To look fresh in the morning, be sure to wash your face before applying moisturizer

Avoid Switching from one brand to another

Trendy makeup looks can be fun, but just make sure that they suit you. If a certain brand works for your skin, then to stick to that brand. Avoid changing from a brand to another too often as this can irritate your skin.

Get Enough Sleep

Lack of sleep is not only bad for your skin but for your overall health. Sleep loss over a longer period can actually lead to more wrinkles and make you look older. Adequate sleep is a key part of a healthy lifestyle, and can benefit your heart, weight, mind and skin
