Hacks For Wearing False Lashes

In the beauty world, false lashes are always an intimidating thing (even experts can’t get it right in their weak moments). These falsies can appear extremely difficult to put on AND pull off.

Even so, if you’re intrigued by the idea of false lashes, don’t psych yourself out and give them a try anyway! They might look difficult to apply, but as long as you’re following these hacks, you can definitely pull off those falsies and elevate your look tenfold.

Measure and trim according to the size of your eyes

It is likely that false lashes that come straight out of a package could either be too long or too wide for your lash line, so you will need to measure them and cut it to size. They shouldn’t be hanging over the edge of your natural lash – not only does this look clumsy but it also makes your eyes look sleepy and downturned instead of wide and awake.  What you need to do is gently bend the lash strip back and forth as this helps loosen up the lash strip, making it more pliable. Now place the falsies directly above your lash line. The lashes should begin a few millimeters away from the inner corner of your eye. You can make a note of where the false lash stops at the edge of your lash line, then cut the excess.

Stack different shapes of falsies before putting them on

Want full volume for your lashes? Don’t be afraid to stack them up to create a fuller effect. Create your own thick, dramatic set of lashes by stacking two lashes together. That is, before applying directly to your lash line. Some make the mistake of stacking directly on the lids, when it’s actually easier to stack before application. You can also mix different shapes—for example, you can go for lashes that are fuller and longer on the outer edges and pair them with full criss-crossing lashes.

Wait for the glue to dry

Never put lashes on right after you’ve applied glue! Always remember that the drier the glue is, the better it will stick to your lash line. Leave the glue on the fake lashes for 40-50 seconds before applying it to your eyes. This gives it enough time to get tacky, and tacky glue sticks to the lash line better.

Stick to the lashes, not the skin

Applying the falsies on your natural lashes instead of your lids will feel much more comfortable, look more natural and avoid a gap between your lashes and false lashes.

Go for easy-to-use magnetic falsies to make life easier

Despite best efforts, there are those of us who really can’t perfect the art of putting on falsies with a glue. Now here’s the solution: the Magnetic 3D False Eyelashes from Lash Factory. With these magnetic eyelashes, putting on and taking off falsies can now be oh-so-easy.  With tiny magnets attached to the lashes, you simply snap them together along your lash line. No sticky glues required! The advanced technology in the magnets guarantee that it will hold the false strands in place, even with constant movements. These magnetic falsies can even be trimmed to perfectly fit the shape of your eyes, for the most natural-looking result.
